"WHILE SOME ATTORNEYS PRACTICE A WIDE VARIETY OF LAW, MY FOCUS IS ON FAMILY LAW."

I earned my B.S.N. at Wichita State University, M.S.N. from the University of Colorado, M.A, from the Denver Seminary, and J.D. at the University of Houston.  I am a Colorado licensed attorney, licensed professional counselor, licensed addiction counselor, and licensed registered nurse.  I am also a certified trauma and abuse psychotherapist, and a certified prepare/enrich premarital and marital therapist.

I have over 15 years of experience practicing law. My professional experience as an attorney began in 1993 as a Deputy District Attorney in Adams County. Following several years of gaining excellent litigation and appellate experience in the adult and juvenile justice systems, I went into private practice. From there, I have pursued justice for my clients in many areas of civil litigation and Collaborative law cases. My experience includes family law, Collaborative law, dependency and neglect, violations of constitutional rights including child abuse in foster care, child placement, teaching law students to be Guardian ad Litems, professional and medical malpractice, wrongful death, and wrongful adoption.

Practicing as a member of multiple multidisciplinary teams, I have over 20 years of experience serving individuals, families and professionals working within the intersections of the courts, educational systems, juvenile justice, child welfare, mental health, and trauma and abuse.

My experiences in law, nursing, and therapy, are especially well suited to the practice of Collaborative law. As a nurse and a therapist, I have had abundant education and experiences with families and the developmental needs of children of all ages. I have extensive experience with depression, anxiety, life transitions, substance abuse, trauma and abuse, attachment disorders, prevention and intervention of suicidality, pregnancy and postpartum therapy for Moms and Dads, couples therapy, and premarital and marital counseling.

My approach to health and well-being is rooted in the belief that we have within us the capacity to live satisfying, engaged, empowered, joyful, and meaningful lives. I help my clients get to the root of what is holding them back, and transform limiting patterns so they can live a happy, healthy life.

Ms. Tucker can serve as a therapist for you or as an attorney, but cannot serve in both capacities.
